Lifestyle PHOTOGRAPHER Rebecca Hunnicutt

Sometimes…our paths are long and winding

But if we’re lucky, they take us right to where we belong.

Long before I became a professional photographer, I was the girl with a camera in hand. In the 90s, I developed my own film, and in college, I worked part-time at a one-hour photo printing lab.

I went on to become a pediatric nurse practitioner, and while I wasn’t taking photos, I was learning how to help children (and their parents) feel comfortable and safe, even in some pretty uncomfortable situations.

My interest in photography piqued when I had my own kids, and I wanted to be able to document not just what things looked like, but how it all felt. Many hours of education and practice later, this business is where I’ve arrived. And I think it’s where I was always meant to end up.

A note about families

Family are the people who make us feel LOVED and SUPPORTED

Sometimes, we’re born into our families. Other times, we choose our families. And sometimes, our families change over time. No matter what yours looks like or how it’s changed over the years, you and the people who make you feel loved belong in front of my lens.

The BEST
thing about
what I do

Connecting with kids (even the camera-shy ones), and making sure they feel comfortable and confident during our sessions.

When l get a message from a parent saying their child wants to know when they can do photos with me again before they’re even home from their session, it makes my day.

Every time.

The SECOND
best thing
about what I do

(Okay, maybe it’s a tie.) When a mom sees her images two weeks later and says they brought her to tears, it’s also the best.

I love photographing my own daughters and documenting their adventures. And I know it matters, because when they see photos of themselves hanging on our walls, I notice them walking a little taller, holding their heads a little higher. And when I look at those photos and see how much they’ve grown, it reminds me how precious time is.

As a LIFESTYLE Photographer…

HOME is where I’m with my two daughters

Though I’ve lived ALL over the world — South Korea, Michigan, Taiwan, Portland

Moving so much and traveling has shaped my outlook on the world and my approach to photography. As I travel, I constantly search for new and different ways to compose images, and I always want to document the memories.

I don’t have professional photos of my family in all of the places we’ve lived together, and I wish we did. Usually, I’m the one behind the camera — but the photos with me (mom) in them, in the places we are, mean so much to me and my kids. Photos of WHERE you are bring back so many memories.
That’s why I want your photos to show you not just the people, but the places where the memories happened. I know how much can change and how quickly, and I want you to be able to remember it all. Remember WHO and WHERE you were.

“Rebecca is both passionate about her work and the consummate professional.”

“Rebecca is without a doubt both passionate about her work and the consummate professional. Her humbleness about and what she does belies her incredible talent which is obvious in her images. Her gift is to not only create show stopping imagery of your family, but to showcase your family back to you in a way that makes you fall in love with them over and over again. Run, don't walk, to book her."

Being trusted as an ARTIST
means a lot to me…

But being invited into your family to capture these moments
in time means even more.

You can’t stop time…

But you can document the ADVENTURE
