Why I Love Professional Quality Photo Albums And Books

Professional Quality Photo Albums and Books Are Some Of My Favorite Photography Products

Why?…Let me tell you!

Albums And Books Are Physical Products

Albums and books are physical products that you can hold in your hand. When you sit and enjoy the photos in a book/album you are taken back to the moment when the photos were taken. The joy you will have when holding onto a printed photo, and reviewing the story of those moments is indescribable (although I’m trying to describe it to you! Ha!).

Also, we wouldn’t want children to hold and look at loose photos that can be easily damaged, or to sit in front of a screen to look back at family memories, so having your family and newborn photos printed in an album are a great way to allow your children to look back at those memories. Research shows that children seeing themselves and their family in physical photos increased their self esteem [link].

They Look Good Displayed or Stored

Albums and books can be displayed on a coffee table, book case, or picture ledge…and look great. They add a modern decor piece to any room. They also look great stored on a shelf and lined up as a collection. You can enjoy them even when not on full display.

Bonus…Your photographer can do the work for you

Creating photo books and albums can be quite time consuming, and is something that often gets pushed down the priorities of the to-do list for busy parents (And, this is something that I can personally relate to as I have a ton of vacation books on my own to-do list too!) But, since it is within the standard practice of your professional photographer, chances are that they can do it efficiently and will deliver it to you quickly as well. I love taking my clients favorite images and putting them into a beautiful album to treasure for years. And, you know that you will receive the book or album quickly and of high quality. Without needing to add anything to your to-do list.

You receive archival quality professional products when ordered via your photographer

When you order your book or album from your professional photographer, you know that you are receiving a high quality product. The labs utilized by pro photographers have archival quality inks and papers, so the longevity of your album will greatly outlast the various consumer print labs. This means that multiple generations will be able to enjoy your album for years to come.

In Place Backup/Archive of Your Photos

Your book/album also serves as an in place backup of your photos and digital files.

Let’s face it, we all have photos stored on floppy disks and CDs that we have no way of playing…and we want to ensure that we have our photos in a way that can be enjoyed at any time, regardless of technology. I have a great blog post you can read about different ways to backup and protect your images {link] and learn how I protect your images during and after your photo session[link].

They Make Awesome Gifts

If your extended family lives far away, sharing an album with them of your annual photo session or your newborn session is a great way to help them feel like they are with you. I know that my own parents enjoy looking at my daughters newborn albums and my sisters wedding album frequently, and they sit displayed proudly in their homes.
