Two of my favorite Oregon Coast Family Photo Locations are close to Pacific City

The Oregon Coast Is A Perfect Location For Family Photos

The Oregon Coast has SO many amazing locations for all types of fun beach activities, and non beach activities too! If your family enjoys traveling to the Oregon Coast, weather for day trips or overnight stays, then I encourage you to plan a photography session this summer while you are there!

Two of my Favorite Locations are Close to Pacific City

Pacific City is 94 miles from Portland, and approximately a 1 hour and 51 minute drive. There are big sand dunes, lots of areas to explore, and you are only about 30 minutes from Tillamook Creamery to the north, and Lincoln City to the South.

Cape Kiwanda

Cape Kiwanda has a huge expansive open beach area and a giant sand dune that you can climb and explore. It’s always a huge hit with my own family, and is also a busy beach location. There is a beautiful area on the north end of the beach with orange rocks that you can explore. This area is best during low tide and is beautiful in the early morning. If you get there early there are often less people around. Exploring the rocks is fun for kids of all ages, and there is a beautiful view from the rocks back to the Haystack rock of Pacific City. This is a great location to mix big open beach with rocks and tide pool exploring.

Neskowin Beach

Another amazing location 15 minutes south of Cape Kiwanda is Neskowin Beach. The area here is great for late afternoon/ early evening sessions. Parking is only a 5 minute walk from the shooting area and the location has tons of variety. There is a small creek, lots of driftwood, a big island, and a large open beach. It’s also a short walk to the ghost forest along the coast. This amount of variety is guaranteed to provide tons of fun for each family member, as well as a very diverse gallery of images.
