Cherry Blossoms At The Tom McCall Waterfront Make For An Amazing Spring Portland Session Location

The Cherry Blossom Trees in Portland are one of Spring’s best activities, and beauties to enjoy, plus they make for a perfect location for spring family photos.

When are the cherry blossoms in bloom?

The Japanese Cherry Blossoms are usually in bloom mid March to early April at the waterfront here in Portland Oregon.

Have you been to experience the excitement and energy that occurs during this spring time of the year?

The festival spirit, the energy that comes from the first blossoms of spring, and feeling of community and family are so strong that I highly recommend you take your family down to enjoy the event.

And, it’s a great location for family photos too!

I’m able to guide us into an area with less pedestrians, and utilize various lenses and shooting angles to work on minimizing the visibility of other people in the background. Kids love to pick up and toss the tiny pettles, and dance among them as they fall to the ground.

Also, there are some amazing bridge views from this area of the waterfront. Depending on the ages of your kids we can walk out onto the bridge for beautiful even views of the cherry blossoms, city skyline, and some unique compositions related to the architectural elements of the bridge.

This can also be a great area to visit if you have family visiting from out of town, to share with them one of Portland’s magical spring traditions.
