Who should have an Oregon Coast Photo session?

Oregon Coast photo sessions are perfect for maternity sessions (couple and or with other siblings), immediate family session, and extended family sessions. Many families will meet up with their larger extended families at the beach, and the space makes it perfect for all types of family photos. We would discuss who is in your family to determine the best location based on ages, need for areas to sit, closeness to restrooms, and any mobility restrictions.

What makes Oregon Coast Sessions Great?

The Oregon coast has such variety in locations, including streams, rivers, hills, cliffs, tide pools, forests, ocean waves, and sunsets…all making beautiful locations for epic family photos. Also, who doesn’t have fun when at the coast? Kids and Parents alike love to run and jump over the waves, explore the sea life, and check out the area…all making for natural and fun filled photos.

Where to have your Oregon coast session?

There are a ton of locations along the coast, and what makes a great location includes something to help filter the light, like cliffs, dunes, an island off shore, etc. Some of my favorite locations include Cannon Beach and Pacific City, particularly Cape Kiwanda and Neskowin beach. We can chat about all locations within a 2 hour drive of 97221 from Astoria to Lincoln city…and other locations are options as well…there would just be an additional travel fee. It’s important to keep in mind the mobility of all members joining for the photo session, ease and location of restrooms, etc. while finalizing our location selection.

When is the best time of year for your Oregon coast session?

Weather at the Oregon coast can vary widely, and is often quite chilly and windy. So, the best way to ensure warmer weather is to have your family photo session at the Oregon coast during the summer. This decreases the chances of cold temperatures, and the need to layer your clothes. I like to build in a cushion of time with an additional backup date for the session so if there is fog, extreme wind, or rain we have a buffer for your session. Additionally, if you’d like to avoid crowds I recommend a weekday session, particularly avoiding Saturday in the Summer. I typically schedule sessions about 60-90 minutes before sunset, or right at sunrise for the most beautiful and forgiving light.

Why To have an Oregon coast photo session?

Beauty, Fun, and amazing photos (as stated above…) need I say more? All joking aside, if the Oregon Coast is a yearly destination for your family, I highly recommend that you have your love and joy filled family time at the coast documented by a professional photographer. This ensures that every member of your family has beautiful photos and enjoys the day. And, after you are home, and reminiscing about your trip, you can enjoy your beautiful memories with wall art and a professional quality photo album.
