What we’ll do if there’s poor weather on your session date
Are you excited that the weather is improving?!? I sure am...I still feel like I'm drying out from the rain of this long spring.
What Happens If It Rains On Your Photography Session Date?
Are you curious what we do if there is rain in the forecast for your photography session? We have a few different options:
Let’s head indoors!
We can have your session at your home, rent a modern studio, or at some amazing favorite locations in town. To shoot in a coffee shop or building we do need to check ahead for permission.
Use Overhangs and Urban Cover
There are some great urban locations here in Portland that have overhangs and some cover. If there's just a chance of a light drizzle heading downtown where we can easily find cover is a great option. And, sidewalks and the city look very colorful when wet!
Get Out And Sing In The Rain
Let's do it and add umbrella's and colorful boots! Unless it's raining sideways with thunder and lightning we can still safely have your session outdoors. It's a very typical scene in the PNW and one that can make for some fun photos as well.
We’ll Discuss The Weather And Decide Together
Prior to your scheduled session if rain is in the forecast I'll reach out so we can discuss our options, the likelihood that it will rain heavily, your kids dispositions, and how they like or dislike wet weather, and the potential to reschedule your session if needed.
To Decrease the Chances of Needing To Reschedule
If the unpredictable nature of rain in the forecast is stressful for you, I recommend planning your session during the time of year when we have more sunshiny days, and avoiding the wet late fall and the rainy spring season.
