We are blessed with many beautiful outdoor locations for photo sessions in the pacific northwest…but sometimes it can be a bonus to plan an indoor photo session. This could occur at your home, a favorite ice cream parlor, the library, or a modern indoor studio space.

The Weather Will Not Stop You From Having Your Photo Session
We can create joy fun, joy filled, and modern photographs indoors this winter, or any season. Celebrating a special birthday or anniversary? Is your little baby now sitting up on their own, or crawling? Would you like new family photos to share with friends and to use to decorate your home? An indoor session is great to book at any time, and we don’t need to worry about heat, poor air quality from wild fires, rain, snow, or cold temperatures.
It’s easier to plan wardrobe when you don’t need to worry about the weather
When we don’t need to worry about being too hot or cold, it can actually be easier to plan outfits for the family for your photo session. No need to worry about layering, hats, jackets, or overheating. When at your home or a studio we can relax in the climate controlled setting and enjoy our time together.
We can plan a fun activity (or two)
If your family has a favorite indoor activity, like baking together, building lego’s, or reading books, we can do this in the comfort of your home. At an indoor studio we can bring and set up a favorite game or other fun activity. We can also head out to a coffee shop or ice cream parlor to have a treat at a favorite local establishment to tell the story of your family, all while indoors.
One Location Option: An Indoor Studio
An indoor studio is a great neutral and modern location that provides an easy way to have your photo sessions this winter while avoiding the unpredictable weather. You don’t need to worry about preparing your home for the session, and a new location is often exciting for kids and families to enjoy.
There are clean walls, big windows, and some backdrop options to make the session fun while in a warm, dry, and covid safe environment. During studio sessions, we’ll capture individual portraits, family images, and various combinations of siblings, parents, etc… At a studio session, I still capture movement, laughter, and connection like we would at an outdoor location or your home, but in a new and modern space.
The Studio Has Lots Of Variety
The studio I prefer has lots of variety, including white walls, cement floors, wood floors, and lots of different seats and stools to create fun and modern portraits. They have also recently added some solid color backdrops that we can incorporate for some fun and bright images too! This helps to create photographs to match your own home’s decor for displaying and gift giving.

We Can Do your Lifestyle Family or Childrens Photo Session At Home
No need to stress about the weather when we’re planning your photo session at your home.
A great bonus to at home family photo sessions, particularly in the rainy Pacific Northwest, is that we are indoors, and don’t need to worry about the impact of the weather!
I’ll explore your home for beautiful pockets of light, and unique architectural details to create your images. If you have a newly renovated area you would like to highlight, let’s check it out. We can also create lovely images outside of your home, regardless of the weather. We just act quick and try to stay close to an overhang, etc.
You Will Feel Your Love For One Another
When you spend this uninterrupted time together hanging out at home, and really seeing each-other everyone will have their love bucket filled up! I know it sounds a bit silly, but it’s true! Just spending some time together without distractions will help to amplify the love and connection that exists within your family, and as a bonus it translates through and creates beautiful photos!

The experience of taking family portraits can be a fun bonding time for your family, regardless of location. There are no phones or computers to distract everyone, and you will get to spend some quality time with your people in a space that works well for lifestyle photography. You can cuddle, chat, enjoy each other’s company, laugh together, etc. And, then you will have these memories to look back on together.
