Should I bundle a maternity, in hospital, and at home newborn session?

The Benefits of Booking Both Maternity And Newborn Photo Sessions

Are you considering having a maternity photography session, in hospital (fresh 48 birth space photo session) and an at home lifestyle photo session? When written out as a list it definitely sounds like a lot of photo sessions, but each has a special difference in telling the story of your growing family.

Establishing A Rapport With Your Photographer

When you book both a maternity and a newborn session with your photographer, you will start to develop a rapport with your photographer early on, making each session run smoothly, and will increase the comfort you have during your newborn session/s. You will also save time as you are communicating with them on how to prepare and schedule all of your sessions seamlessly.

Cost Savings

Many photographers, myself included, offer a bonus or special pricing to families when they ‘bundle’ or book these 2-3 sessions together. This will decrease the total cost of the 2-3 sessions when booked as a bundle.

Photograph + Artwork Consistency

When you book multiple photo sessions to tell the story of your growing family, an added benefit is that the photographs themselves will have consistency in style, editing, and artwork options. For example, you could print an album from each session creating a collection of images. You could hang photos on the wall from each session and they will all work well together to highlight your family and your story.

This is a beautiful album from a family who had three sessions to tell the story of their growing family. First, they had a maternity session at Cathedral Park, then we met at the hospital where their baby was born for a Fresh 48 (birth space) photo session, and finally we did a lifestyle newborn session at their home. The parents selected their favorite images from each session and together this album is a beautiful story of their transition from a family of two to a family of three.
