Is Newborn Photography Worth the investment?

So, I have a feeling that I know what you’re thinking…of course a newborn photographer is going to say that newborn photos are worth it!

But, I’m also a mom. So, I’m also speaking from personal experience when I tell you why I believe newborn photos are well worth the investment.

Here are five reasons why newborn photography is well worth the investment:

The newborn period goes by super fast

Did you feel like the last nine months were slow, and you were pregnant for SO long... and then all of a sudden your newborn has arrived. You are sleep deprived, and trying to soak in every moment. And I can tell you from personal experience that before you know it, your newborn is six months old. I have a good friend who has told me that she really wishes she had scheduled newborn photos for her son because she doesn’t remember the first few weeks at all! After her emergency c-section, some complications, and sleepless nights, weeks had gone by before she felt like she could remember and reflect on her sons birth. If she had newborn photos she could look back at that time and remember. She tells me that it’s one of her big regrets!

If you’re taking all the photos, you won’t be in any

If you are a photographer yourself, and using your phone to take photos...then you won’t be in the frame. I can honestly say that you will regret not being in your new baby’s newborn photos. Of course you are tired, and recovering from the birth of your child...but I guarantee you that you and that baby will want to see photos that include YOU! You’ll want to be taken back to that moment of cuddling your newborn, and hugging your partner from those early days. These moments are fleeting, so when you hire a photographer you will be captured in those memories. Guaranteed.

You may think you can take photos on your phone, but it’s not the same as hiring a professional

Ok...I’ll jus throw this out there. We are SO lucky in this day and age to have access to a device at all times that takes good photos. But...the quality of those images, the capability of the phones, and the editing done by a photographer are not the same as when we use our phones. If you are using apps to shoot in manual and edit your images, then you can call my bluff. But, if you’re using the standard camera and not editing for proper exposure, and utilizing the light as a professional would, then its just not the same.

You will want to display these photos all over your home

When you hire a newborn photographer to capture these once in a lifetime images for you and your family, you will have gorgeous photographs to display in your home. You will be able to display beautiful artwork featuring your new growing family to enjoy for years to come.

You may not feel well enough to take, edit, share, print, and gift your newborn photographs…so I’ll do it all for you!

Let’s be honest, the newborn period is exhausting for parents. And, if it’s your second or third pregnancy you are even more busy and tired. So, when you hire a newborn photographer you are delegating an important task to a well qualified individual so that you can spend more time snugging, feeding, and changing diapers! As a professional newborn photographer, I’m experienced in working with families and newborns to document this beautiful fleeting time. Then, I will edit your selected images in color and black and white, providing you with a full gallery of gorgeous images. My newborn package includes a custom album, so all you need to do is select your favorite 20 images from your gallery, and I’ll design and deliver your beautiful album within a few weeks. Your photo gallery will be online and easy to share with family and friends who do not live in the area. Also, you can easily order additional albums and wall art right from your gallery to get new artwork up and displayed in your home celebrating your growing family.
